Dont worry one of my EVGA SC is 63% ASIC. but still overclocks with a custom bios to 1550MHZ thats +360mhz on the core clock. stated in unengine valley as 1743mhz. Only use GPU-Z, afterburner exaggerates.

Coming from 970 sli I wasn't expecting a boost in performance I just wanted a single card again and something new to play with and in benchmarks & games I'm seeing -5 to +10% performance, however, I immediately noticed how much smother things felt! It's surprising as I'm using a G-SYNC monitor (Asus swift) but it just feels much more 'solid' for lack of a better description. Very happy with my purchase.

So, what's the best 980Ti available now? I was looking at the EVGA Hybrid, it's a reference design though I think so maybe something with a non-reference design with 3 fans would be better?

Value for money wise, the 8 Pack HOF Edition is hard to beat, binned GPU's, great power phase and a decent and sexy cooling solution.

Well of course, but on Air Asic matters

HoF then, even just for the binned gpu (best doesn't make sense in this world, otherwise only one product would sell. You should make up your own mind reading reviews, user experiences and videos).

Put in a 120mm fan (Set to lowest RPM) in bottom of node 804 and dropped 980 Ti temps by about 10C, wasn't expecting that big of a difference tbh

My kit in the Define S is doing really well too. CPU being cooled by the H110i intaking from the front, the bottom fan is cooling the bottom Ti and the side fan is cooling the top Ti!! With one on the rear for extraction it's a pretty good setup tbh :cool:

Everything is doing reallllllllly weell temp-wise. Chuffed!!!

Only thing I have to sort is to try to get the idle sound down a touch, but it's not like it's intrusive. I crave complete silence

Just a lot of airflow going on

Ha, yeah I got a fair few fans in this one now lol, all set to low RPM though. Much happier with my new build, really quiet and compact.

REF 980 Ti, temps are surprisingly good, extra fan right in front made drastic difference.

Looking forward to the day a single chip can give good gaming performance and only need 1 x cooling fan lol. Silence and low power use would be awesome. AMD APU or An Intel / Nvidia hybrid chip, would buy in a heartbeat

I am now a proud owner of an MSI 980TI, finally

Had worries of coil whine when my pc started with it installed, as it was doing windows updates, but I can't hear it at all now and even at the time, it was faint.

I'll post a picture later (after I grab a bag of haribos from work

) then you can put me on TROH.

What's a realistic OC to expect from an evga super clocked acx 2.0?

I know it's a very open question but I haven't been keeping an eye on everyone's clocks and usually it's the people who run modded bios' and/or got lucky in the silicon lottery that shout the loudest about their OC.

Is 1500+ Core possible or is that reserved territory for the classified/HOF type of cards?
