N6 was $649/£499, making this $499/£383.

Bizzarely that's a massive difference in ratio to how the N5 was sold, which was much more expensive in the UK than the US compared to the 6.

Plus there's no way they will have just a £60 gap between the 5X and 6P. Youd expect the top priced 5X to be less than the lowest prices 6P.

I'm saying this now, the leak is wrong. It's got to be. Look at the price range of the 5X and 6P...

5X 16GB $379
5X 32GB $429 (estimated using the $50 difference of the 5)
5X 64GB $479 (extrapolated as there isnt a 64GB)
6P 64GB $499

Is the 6P really just $20 better than the 5X??? It's a whole league above! There's no way they will price them that close, its stupid given the enormous gap in spec. Either the 5X leak is too high, the 6P is too low, or Google have lost the plot.

It's $499 for the 32GB Nexus 6P. So:

5X 16GB $379
5X 32GB $429

6P 32GB $499
6P 64GB $549

My pricings off, as the $499 6P is meant to be the 32GB one. That means the comparable 5X is going to be about $70 less, which while a bit better is still far to close to be genuine.

The 5 to 5X has risen from $349 to $379 for basically the same phone. I can't believe that the 6 to 6P will have seen a $150 drop from $649 to $499 for what is a decent leap forward in spec.

The more I think about it, the more even something like $699 for the 6P makes sense.

We shall see tomorrow.

Android Police are pretty reliable and they are certain of the pricing. They aren't speculating. You need to account for it possibly being cheaper because they aren't the same manufacturer and it might be cheaper for Huawei to make them.

Even despite the pricing people will still buy the smaller one because big phones don't sell as well.

Different manufacturers yes, but they are both branded Nexus and selling at the same time. They are just too close to make sense.

I'm pretty sure one of them is wrong, either in price or in the capacity/model. The pricing makes the 5X look awful.

$379 Nexus 5X 16GB
$499 Nexus 6P 32GB

It's still a $120 difference in base model prices. Just going to put it out there that I think these are correct. I understand why you are pessimistic but there's really no reason to suspect anything is wrong with Android Police's info so close to the event. No other publications are disputing it either and plenty of them are even using them as a source as they deem them very reliable.

My main issue is I'm in the market for a 5X and this pricing would make me a complete idiot to consider one :(.

The search for a decent and cheap 5" phone continues...

Will be sitting with the card ready tomorrow lol, the Note 4 has been pretty OK, but I need stock android back in my life. Love using my ladies Nexus 5, I'd swap the note 4 with her but she doesn't like the size.
