There is some gouging going on with the FE cards.

1080 MSRP $699

1070 MSRP $449

I know the 1070 will use chips that can not be used for the 1080.

The 1070 will also use GDDR5 instead of GDDR5X.

My point is 5 or even 10 GTX 1070s will be sold for every 1080, so how come the $250 difference between the cards. This can not be explained away by using failed 1080 chips in the 1070s as the likely sales volumes are too high for the 1070.

Because you always pay exponentially more for additional performance. The 1p70 has to be sold at a certain price point to generate sufficient sales. The 1080 is a niChe product

Looks like a lot of vendors are going with the RGB theme.

Asus ROG 1080, I'm guessing new strix most likely.

UK.
Pascal announced at $699 founders edition? and the UK price is £649.99 how come?

$699 = £482 pounds... & £649.99 = $443.99 or there abouts.

in the name of all that is good and holy... how and why is 1080 costing £649.99 when the Nvidia CEO 'Jen-Hsun Huang' himself announced it at $699 dollars

To get the USA launch price here. All we have to do is wait a year until the next series launches.. Then the 1080 cards should be the same price here in the UK that they launched in the US at the year before :p

If I am genuinely honest, I couldn't give a hoot what a GPU looks like, as once it is in my case, I don't ever look again, except for the occasional de-dust and equipment change. Sod the lights, sod the pretties and happy days :D

Your completely opposite to me. I have my pc on my desk with me.

Nothing quite like looking into the case every now and then :p.

I don't mind the RGB but i wouldnt really use it i don't think. Blocks will be going on it after all. Just looks much cleaner I think.

This

I dont give a fluff what the inside of my case looks like...As long as its got good airflow etc...

Its under my desk where it belongs...I have never understood people who want the case taking up desktop space....Even a silent pc you can hear...
