These card's have less memory bandwidth than a 980ti, does this have effect on performance? Can remember a lot of people making a big deal out of this when the 980 came out (versus the 780).

the 980 uses standard GDDR5 whereas the 1080 uses GDDR5X meaning much faster memory, forget the 256 bit bus the 1080 offers 320gb/s vs the 980 Ti 336gb/s hardly any difference in the real world.
1080 is a great balance between Vram, memory bandwidth and just sheer power of the gpu itself, really looking forward to tomorrow :D

First look at ZOTAC’s most powerful GTX 1080 variant, the PGF Edition.

That is hideous.

Probably worth staying clear of the EVGA FTW edition until we find out if it is voltage locked like the 980 FTW.

Not a fan of that new cooler design from EVGA tbh. I liked the understated design of the ACX 1.0/2.0 shrouds. That's a little 'gamer bling' for my tastes.

This, pretty much all of these coolers IMO are hideous. As time goes on the design should become more minimal, not adding extra plastic or metal here and there to make it look more substantial.

they were "only" £543 per card where as all the other Founders Editions were £630 and the Asus GTX 1080 Strix was £615 and the MSI GTX 1080 Gaming was £666
