Mr Jenson Button at the top of the pile for the moment - hmmm not sure about which one of the Brawn's is on Valencia trim and which one on Hungary, sounds like they could still be a bit confused (with both drivers able to top the times for a period)

1355: With Spa and Monza almost certain to play more into Red Bull's hands rather than the Brawn GPs, you have to think this could be a crucial weekend for championship leader Jenson Button. And the Briton looks to be in good shape, too, topping the charts at 1:40.911, with team-mate Rubens Barrichello close behind. A Brawn one-two in that order come Sunday could be all they need to place one hand on the drivers' championship?

Talk about over exaggerating - its far too close for that even if this weekends results end up like that (which I really hope they do)

edit - Alonso just went faster than the Brawn's

Saw this up til 2pm

Brawn seemed to put in a quick time and then everyone else would

I'm not convinced they have it dialled in yet unless it all changed in the last half hour

Good to see Badoer was a good choice for Ferrari. Surely they'd have been better off not running a car?

Even if they use it as a test session with him trundling round at the back it will probably be worth having him there.

With the car running, they are at least fulfilling sponsorship duties.

He really is not up there is he. Fingers crossed he is just struggling with setup, and will pull his finger out tommorrow. Perhaps he was just taking it easy till the track is properly rubbered in?

*edit* I am almost certain though that Gene would have been quicker :(

To be fair he's not doing that badly - less than 1.3s off Kimi in Q2. Whether he's going to be able to pick up the pace for Quali like everyone else will is another question though. And yeah, as above, it's worth having him out there to get data, test new parts etc.

I don't think that's fair. He hasn't had a chance to drive the car on track thanks to the idiotic testing rules, and, unlike the other drivers, he's been doing pretty much exclusively long stints to give him track time, that will give him a noteable time disadvantage against the qualification practice laps of the others.
