So everything came today and i started building my pc.This is my first complete build and my 1st time watercooling. It took me about 6 hours to place everything. From the watercooling kit I have only installed the cpu waterblock (by the way the kit is the one that comes with Tt's Armor LCS).All I have to do now is place the pump+reservoir and the tubes, but I am too tired to do it today.
Anyway,I raised up the case and I looked it,and I noticed that the cpu waterblock, instead of beeing in a horizontical position(as shown is the case's manual)it is vertically fitted(the holes in which the tubes go are in vertical position).DAMN.Do I have to rotate the waterblock?Inside the waterblock I can see some kind of a zig zag starting from one hole and ending at the other one, which probably means that the fluid wont "move"correctly, right?I dont know if I make any sense,I am tired and dissapointed because rotating the waterblock without removing the mobo from the case(and the rest of the hardware)will be a pain.So do I have to rotate it?

Waterblocks will work even upside down. Don't worry about the orientation of the block - at least as far as flow is concerned. Sometimes it may be harder to bleed blocks in certain orientations but once bled you will be fine.

It isnt supposed to be like that. This is how it should be(taken from Tt's website)

Thats great news guys, thanks a lot.But are you 100% sure that when I open my pc I wont hear an explosion? If I have to do it,I will do it 1st time tommorow, but if you are 100% sure then I will relax and finalize the whole thing.

Hi,

Think about a garden hose,

even coiled up on the reel water flows through ok.

Usually it's best to check for leaks before running the PC as the damage is done when it's wet and live.

You can usually use a wire link to start the PSU which would just be connected to the water cooling.

Let it run for an hour and check for leaks

try rotating that bracket 180deg, u will find the words "Thermal Take" the right way up then ;)

Otherwise will be fine as is :)

(i have the kandalf, my block is the same way - works a treat)

Rotating it 180deg would bring it in the same position as now.The right one would be 90 deg.

i meant the actual words on the steel bracket would be the right way up when the case was standing.

The current rotation is fine, i have mine in exactly the same position.

To get the air out, lay the whole system on its side and turn it on it helps a lot.

There is nothing for you to worry about at all.

one other note, you didnt stick the back plate on useing the 3m pad did you?
if you did take it off NOW before it permanently welds itself to your motherboard. (if it hasent allready)
its not really permanent, but the the level of force needed to remove it if you change boards is simply insane - so it may aswell be :(

just a warning :)

Erm,I did it exactly as the manual said..so I guess i sticked it :(.Im not going to go trough the whole proccess again though.Anyway, thanks for the tips mate.Do you mind explaining what do you mean by "lay the whole system on its side and turn it on"?I didnt really understand it.Maybe I cant handle any more info today lol,too tired.

ThermalTack is the watercooling version of Q-Tek. Great fun until your mates find out! Or...it explodes (as water can do), or it explodes, (as Q-tek PSU's can do).

Block orinetation can effect performance. D-tek for one recomend certain ways of mounting the block. Pedantics TBH.

As said above the orientation of the block doesnt make much of a difference other than for bleeding, but can increase heat slightly if orientated a different way.

What does make a difference however is which pipes go where, ie you must make sure the intlet for the block is letting water in the block and not taking it away as this will have a drastic affect on the performance of the block.

I will leave the block as it is then.I will install later pump, tank and tubes. Can someone tell me how can I check for leaks?I know that only the watercooling should be connected to psu to do this, but how is it supposed to start?

It is two completely different sockets anyway so the orientation will be different. You are on 775 and the one in the TT piccy is an Abit mobo of some sort on what seems to be socket 939. Don't worry about it. The biggest mistake you made was buying a TT water cooling kit.
