Tidying cables from the Wall mounted TV

Hi,
I've got my Plasma TV mounted on the wall, but the problem here is that the cables run down the wall (currently) and I need to tidy them. What are the best options? Chasing the cables in to the wall is not an option.

The walls in the room are a chocolate colour at the bottom, and a lighter brown at the top, seperated by dado railing of which the TV sits about 5 inches above. Obviously due to these colours I don't want white trunking running down the wall. So really, what options have I got?

Paint the trunking in a colour that matches the walls? Just rough up the plastic trunking with some sandpaper, and any old paint should stick ok... If you use a vinal based paint you may even have enough' flex' in the paint to open the trunking occasionally. But I would paint it up after all the cables were installed.

If you cant chase the cables into the wall thats about the only option open to you.

you could go for a contrasting colour trunking, you can get aluminium/black coloured covers which might do what you're after, cost might be a bit higher than you want though.

Another option and this all depends on your layout more than anything is using a braided metal/nyon pipe (linky to a metal option) which could be used to cover all the wires, yes I know its usually used in car engines etc :). The metal I linked to should (I haven't tried it yet) take a scart cable if you get the largest 38-57mm size. I have the intention of using this with my setup after the loft has been completed as my monitor is 90 degrees to the dvd player etc and I don't want send the wires via the walls :)

Build a "false wall" from plaster board, the same width as TV whole height of wall and paint as per wall - put cables in space behind?

Pop a hole in the wall (behind the TV/bracket)

Drop a fishing wire with weights down the hole.

Pop a hole in the wall (directly below TV, where you need them to come out)

Pull fishing wire through hole, but leave some up top.

Attach a cable to the fish wire and pull :)

Assuming there are no noggins... Unlikely.

You could use a wallmount stand like this
