Sony to Release White PS2 for Christmas

I think we would all agree that the PlayStation 2 has had a long run, with no signs of recent sales slowing down. To keep things interesting, this November Sony will release a white PS2 bundled with "SingStar Pop" and 2 USB microphones. The packaged deal will be available for $149.99USD. The new paint job is a welcome aesthetic change for those whose home decor doesn't accommodate for the "flat black" original, or anyone with a different taste in colors.

Hopefully there is a white PS3 out at Christmas aswell. :cool:

I actually like the look of that a lot... shame the power pack isn't coordinated too, but I'm sure a few packs of Tipp-Ex could be put to good use rectifying that.

What do you think of the chances of a slim ps3 happening?
Or even an improved ps3 like the xbox360 has there elites?

as for a slim ps3 im not sure , it could happen with a cooler chip and an external PSU i guess , like they did with the ps2

You would think Sony would be investing time and money in to the PS3 and bringing out games, Nope! there bringing out different colour versions of a 7 year old console :rolleyes:

Corrected for you, how can you look at the upcoming line up and say thy arent putting time and moey into the games lineup compared to last coupld of quarters

if anything i blame them for releasing the ps3 so early but they wherent left much choice , atleast theyre still supporting the ps2 and theres still games coming out for it

Doesnt appeal to me personally - but good to see they are still supporting it after 7 years!!!

I guess that means the Xbox 360 wanted to look like an ipod if no-one else can use the same colour :rolleyes:

Undoubtedly in time there will be a slimline PS3 but I doubt it will be out for a year or two.

if the rest of your kit is white, surely you would want it to match?
It's not as if it costs significantly more than a normal one...

More like Wii...

There are third party motion sensor controls coming out for it. It's a smart decision by Sony as it would be stupid not to compete it against the Wii when it has such a large userbase.
