Smoking age IS rising

Just reading this thread it's quite amazing how acceptable/tolerated smoking addiction is compared to other addictions.

Why not just ban smoking all together? i know it makes a lot of money for sellers etc. but i don't see what the point is... fair enough when they used to think it was good for you, but now we know the truth, that they kill you, why bother?
 
I find it quite funny how a 17 year old cannot smoke or drink but can drive the worlds fastest production car legally (in theory)

I don't see prohibition as a progressive solution - it certainly did the USA no favours banning alcohol in the 30's.

Some non-smokers find this hard to comprehend but some smokers actually enjoy smoking a cigarette :)

yeah, lets ban it, and alcohol while we are at it. That has no health benefits really(apart from the 1 or so glasses of red wine that can be good for the circulatory system). Think about all the A&E from violcence, Drink Driving, and liver damage! Save us a fortune!


p.s. I'm being sarcastic :p
