Case For Triple Radiator... CM Cosmos Perhaps?

With Hindsight, its a simple job of cutting the holes in the roof. Thermochill have a nice Diagram on their site that I used for the PA120.3 Rad that I have.

I just taped it up with masking tape, measured it out accurately and then drilled a pilot hole. Got the Jigsaw out and away I went!.

Additionally, there is room for the performance shroud and 120x25mm fans from the inside of the roof to the bottom of the top PSU bay, with clearance.

Yea, I thought I could simply buy a hole saw, cut 3 120mm holes and drill the fixings? In addition, some people have the fans blowing in (between rad & chassis) from the top or the bottom of their cases, others have the fans blowing out (through rad and out). I would have thought the ideal place for the rad would be in the bottom of a case with the fans blowing/sucking cool air in. Failing that in the top, with cool air being drawn in and down through the case.
 
Was gonna go the holesaw route myself but I have a crappy drill and a good quality Jigsaw, so that answers that :)

In truth fitting Rad at bottom is possible, but my setup works nicely with Rad in roof. Fans design to pull air in from outside and push down into the case.

Two case fans and PSU then push air out. I probably have a slight positive pressure of air flow, but tbh, I don't really care as the PA120.3 does a MONSTER job of cooling my CPU & GPU :D

What are your temps like?
 
On a good day? Where ambient air is around 21C, the CPU maybe go upto between 29C-32C 100% Orthos dual core load.

While gaming, some logs show CPu avergaing around 29C and GPU avergaing around 35-38C.

Oh and its pretty much silent.

Seems to me a 120.3 makes all the difference temp wise.

Just been reading that 50+ page Slacker Stacker thread over @ XS... OMG! :o A couple of characters have taken things to extremes or what!

Just got to decide G70 or Stacker now, top or bottom mount for the rad and order the gear.
 
Personally I think the G70's a much prettier case than the Stacker but has slightly less room, also you've got all the matching Lian-Li accessories you can use to finish it nicely. I'm going for a stacker with my next build simply because I've seen them at less than £100 and the XS thread's given me a few ideas I'd like to try.
 
I think the G70 has some very understated, simple looks, and they've really grown on me. Its a damn pratical, functional case with the that unique 'blandness' that Lian-Li do so well. Its very hard to top the Lian-Li's for their quality, and I've worked with a fair few cases over the years.

As for lack of room, well, when I moved to the G70 I had a Tt Soprano before hand and that case could fit inside the Mobo area of the G70 with the G70 side panel ON :)
 
If you want to fit a PA120.3 in the roof of a case with the absolute minimum of disruption then have a look at the Lian Li S80. The PSU sits in top of the case and above that there is 95mm of emptiness (they supply a mounting for an 80mm fan to go in there). The case is long enough for a PA120.3 to sit up there and if you pick your optical drives carefully, you can still use all four bays. And it's REALLY quiet too if you use 6 Yate Loon fans.
 
To fit a triple rad in the Lian Li V2000+ II you would have to remove the 2nd HDD rails, and by the looks of it move the first HDD rail forward a bit.

If you can find one second hand (no longer made) then an old skool ATC S4000 is perfect for a triple rad.

How are the HDD rails fixed? Are they riveted? I must say that I prefer the look of this case to the G70, however, I'd prefer a window on the left side and the motherboard the right way up.
 
The S80 case mentioned and also the new A71 case from Lian Li look like good bets as well as the G70.

TBH, if I was buying now, I'd probably plump for the new A71 case - looks the biz :D
 
Would a PA120.3 fit at the front of the Lian Li PC-A16B? I'm not sure if the radiator would be too wide. It looks like it could take 3x120mm fans at the front if you only need 1 DVD drive.

i just removed the front one and rotated the other to hide the cables.
ps. it still leaves 2 x bays for dvdrw and fancontroller when installed upright!
