What do you need to safely pour?
Kneel down, get a few mates to hold the keg upside down above your head
Unscrew the top, position mouth under top
Begin drinking.

Hi all! Looking at the calender, I've got a lot of family parties which i'm organising between now and Christmas. A lot of the parties that i've help organise are bring your own drink but I wanted to be a bit different and have beer on tap...

I've asked my local pub and they are willing to supply me with beer kegs - size = 22 (if that means anything to anybody?!?)

What equipment do I need to safely pour the beer out of this keg? I've had a look around and I think I need something like this:

Any ideas anybody?

Best off just hiring it all , we did it and it worked out about 90 pint a pint for fosters/carling etc

Hi,

I got a keg once from our local pub for the house. Not sure what size, think it did 88 pints.

They gave us a pump to use. It just clamped on to the table and they hooked up a gas cannister as well.

Did you not ask at your pub?

Edit: Sorry your pic hadn't loaded when I posted. It was a setup a bit like that yeah, the pub gave us all that.

there is a purpose built dispenser for home. It chills and has a tap on it. But its designed for small kegs and costs about £200-300, can't remember what it's called though. Would be much better than a commercial set up if you can afford it.

It's an all in one thing, keg sits at the back, tap at the front, plugs into the mains and sits on top of any flat surface.

We got a barrell of Bath SPA direct from the brewery for an event. It had a tap attached and we cooled it with wet towells. Worked quite well and was very nice.

If you're doing ale either make sure it's 'bright' (do sediment) or make sure the barell is left to settle before you drink it.

Last time I had kegs, we had this like tap thing on it, mate got it from arkells i think, kegs were 22's of arkells 3b's. We just left the hose pouring on top of the keg to keep it cold, grass was soaked after and water bill was a lot, worth it.

The joys of selling dispense equipment to breweries, if I ever need to pour from a keg we've got everything on the shelves to do it :D
