Just had a knock at the door

Awful isn't it? Ethan is 7 and a half months and teething earlier than the other two,.

Haven't seen any of that myself, most of Cambourne is full of families with young chilldren. Are you thinking of the same place as there's also a Cambourn (sp?) in Cornwall.

I've seen plenty on the side that morrisons is on, I think that's great cambourne?

I think there was a few dealer's houses raided in great cambourne a while ago as well.

I believe that's where most of the 'social housing' is.

I haven't really seen much of the other parts, a relative used to live in great cambourne but they left as soon as they could :D

Everywhere has its bad element. Even here in Eastbourne which is reknowned for having 90% of its population over the age of 80 there are still plenty of junkies, petty thugs, fraudsters and even the odd murderer.

I live in Lower Cambourne up the other end, never had any problems here at all. Imo this is a lovely place with nice parks for the children and it's very quiet usually! I think there is some affordable housing over that side so could be the people living there? Houses aren't cheap here so I'm surprised really. Do you live in Cambourne then?

All I meet here are middle class people with their children at the school so, again, I'm surprised. I'm a working class girl myself so found it quite an adjustment moving here from London. Much prefer it now though, the peace and quiet is great.

Nah, a relative used to live in great cambourne, so I was there quite a bit, great cambourne was concrete central, not a huge fan, there was a bit of park near the dentists, but that was it.

I remember when it just used to be mud with a morrisons in the middle :p

Not tried the little brandy or whiskey on the gums trick?

Apparently my gran used to do it to me an I went to sleep very quickly :)

No I wouldn't do that tbh. No offensive but I don't think doing that is the right thing to do for a baby.

Lol I've been here for 3 years now and it's more than mud and it's definitely not like you say whatsoever! It's a quiet place with mostly families living here. I have a few friends in Great Cambourne too and it's lovely there as well. There may be one or two houses that have problems or are drug dealers but out of a few thousand then it's not even a drop in the ocean. Compare this place to a lot of others and I know where I'd rather live.

I was last in Gt. Cambourne about 6 months ago, still too much concrete for my liking, lower cambourne is probably better if it has more parks and whatnot, Gt. Cambourne had one crap one.

My impressions of Gt. Cambourne are paving blocks, take aways, and morrisons, it must be the scabby side :D

Lol there are a couple of lakes here too, I don't think you could have seen those. There is one chip shop and 1 indian which have only been here 6 months or so. When we first moved here there was only Morissons and no other shops so it's nice to have other places now. Great Camboune has a lovely park and a woods to walk through as well.

There is a high street with the doctors, library, community centre, chemist, takeaway, estate agent, law firm. Hardly scabby  Everything is new and clean and I've never seen any problems at all.

I'd laugh if the cab-driver had said

"Sorry to trouble you. Is this 44 Tamworth Street?"
"Erm... no, sorry!"
"Oh, OK. (Long pause) Don't s'pose you need a lift anywhere, do you?"

:D

If you google Earth lower cambourne you can also see we're pretty much surrounded by fields. We live more to the left in the pic it brings up though. The green in the middle is the cricket pitch.
