I noticed that also. What does the graphic actually show? I am presuming it is some from of graphics showing the connections between different types of servers, but which ones?

No mate. For a start there are no datacentres slap in the middle of the Atlantic ocean.....and the cables dont just abruptly stop dead on the borders of certain countries.

Its just an ad.

Nah its someone with a lot of time and going doo-lally on paint spar :D

It's also factually inaccurate, it's meant to show which countries don't provide unrestricted access to the web, but there's great big lists of sites that almost every ISP in the western world blocks, and not all of them illegal. The list is just bigger for those countries, that's all.

It might be cool if it actually depicted anything real!

They've just covered the map with a random mess of lines and then blacked out certain areas. Result is a totally fabricated map which depicts very little but "looks good for dramatic effect". Whilst I don't have a problem with causes such as this and bringing the rights of free speech and freedom of expression to oppressed areas, using OTT and melodramatic depictions such as this does them no favours.
