Why does this motherboard cost so much?

I would think the below added something to the price...

abit has included everything you're likely to need with the IN9 32X-MAX, even an optical audio cable - something that's usually not provided.

Unlike ASUS's solution on boards such as the P5K Deluxe, which sees WiFi support implemented by fitting a USB wireless adaptor directly to a header on the motherboard, abit provide their wireless support in the form of a PCIe card.

This works well, with low CPU utilisation and reasonable performance, and also has the ability to act as Wireless Access Point using the Soft-AP mode

It is dear tho, but did anyone notice the blitz board slide up to the £190s from the £160s?

Them Blitz boards are bloody unbelivable.

But people still must buy them becuase of the stupid name (OMFG its called Blitz, Commando, Striker) they must be amazing motherboards. Also the stupid little gimmicks.

Compltete waste of money.

Yea i have noticed a lot of ocuk's prices have shot up over the last few weeks, while other competitors have stayed the same.

could it be because x38 isnt as good as first thought?

Hey Energize, sorry i should have said, as well as having capabilties of running 2 Nvidia cards (SLI) and the extra fetures you get with the Abit IN9 32X-MAX WiFi nForce 680Abit.

The two PCI-Express slots will run at 16x electrically as oppsoed to the boards you have linked to above, will most likely only running at 8x when set in SLI mode. :)

£193.86 inc VAT ive seen it elsewhere for £164.44 inc. VAT just a little bit of a price difference
The price of the ASUS jumped about 30 quid a few days ago.

It's interesting to note that both the Abit IN9 32X-MAX WiFi nForce and the Blitz boards both come with cards that fit in the PCIe slot.

Does that add a premium?
Hmm Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Soundcard (PCI-Express) - OEM @ £30.54 inc VAT

I suppose the WiFi card on the ABIT is worth much the same.

They are dear though :(

p5n-e will do 8x/8x and its definetly a budget board though probably one of the best I reckon

Anyone running sli is power crazed and half nuts so they are just pricing according to the market tbh
Totally different to the budget market and less mainstream with higher individual development costs
