Hi all.
All my life i've never believed in ghosts, or any suspisticion and i have always thought everybody who has shared or supposebly experienced ghosts to be load of lies, and they say it for attention and to feel special like there different than anyone. my father has supposebly witnessed ghost activite or paranormal forces, or energy!
Well today i was rota'd in for a full day shift, i work at a place called "The Regent Hotel" its a very old old hotel/building! and ive heard a few ghost storys about an old lady who roams the bottom floors, which is now called "The Beatles Bar", and also the old cellar, and ive never really been bothered about it since i work there all the time, its my part of the building to control.
Today at 3pm i was working upstairs until it gets to about 7 when i move to downstairs for the late night parties, the guiness was running dry, so i had to change the barrel before i could finish the guys round off who i was currently serving. so i grabbed cellar keys ran down a flight of stairs, and opened the cellar, i went over to the guinness pump after searching for it, and i couldnt quite work out how i took it off, nor changed it for that matter i finally prized it free from the empty barrel, but couldnt for the life of me work out how to get it on a new barrel. i tryed and tryed, i currently understood how it slides on and didnt clip on! then out of the corner out of my eye, i saw a dress and a pair of old style peep toe shoes go past me! at first i thought it was one of the people from the wedding do's, as there was two weddings partys currently in the hotel.
but nether the less i thought it was odd, i paused and look to my left slowly to see absolutely nobody, theres only one entrance to the cellar, and it was infront of me, and the energy had walked in from that direction, it was not a person who i could talk to or focus on, but i did see it, and i have never been so still in my life when i realised.
i paused in my tracks, with the guinness barrell pump in my hand, and i darent move, i stood still for what seemed a good 5minutes, and i felt really emotional not upset, mad, nothing i cant explain the emotion and feeling what i felt, all of a sudden my eyes started watering really heavy, as i was almost crying. i finally dropped everything and darted for the door, i didnt even lock it, i ran straight up the stairs, and back to the bar where i did not want to go back down.
i told the other bar staff who was on with me to change it, as i couldnt work it out.
later on that night i told somebody who explained that there was a woman who passed away, elderly woman, who goes by the name of "Nelly? Longworth" who is the grandmother of the owner "Michael Longworth" they didnt doubt me for one minute as to what i explained to them, the managers, they said a few male barstaff have seen and experienced her presence, but never any females. and its always been in the same corridor/area as the old cellar.
i have explained i dont want to ever change any beer barrells again or go down to the cellar by myself.
its the strangest most chilling experience i have encountered, i have always thought the downstairs was creepy, all its brick work, old doors etc.
Thought i would share.
