Errors when installing windows

right just burnt that hirens boot disk to a cd...out it in my computer and told it to boot from CD and its not having any of it :confused: CD whirs but then it just carries on to NTDL cant be found ro soemthing and i have to ctrl alt delete restart
 
I haven't needed to use the new version as yet ,I will next week when I'm back at work , but once the CD is recognised it will give you an option of what to start on the disk .My old version diffinetly worked .Have you not got a knackered CD reader/writer maybe ?? have you another to try. You haven't just copied the ISO to a CD have you ?? I used the ISO part of NERO to extract the file to disk .If you just have an ISO file on the CD it will never work .
 
Use ImgBurn to burn the ISO to another CD and then get ImgBurn to check the CD after burning. It'll compare the CD to the original image.

me = n00b then me thinks, i just selected the iso file and told it to burn to the disk lol

not sure how to burn it as an actual iso then im using imgburn, but this is pretty much the first cd ive made that hasnt been just music or data so i dont have a clue :p lol
 
I didn't have a clue either when I was presented with an ISO .But I had seen the section in NERO so ,I went ahead and tried it and it worked first time. MarkLister uses Ingburn in the previous post ,I'm afraid I dont , but ,I know NERO will do the job .Just tinker around with Imgburn untill you get it right .
It should work , like I say , this program is well worth having if you have PC problems , everyone swears by it , so persavere till you get it m8 .
 
had a go and just got a few errors pretty much saying " no your not doing it right!"

which nero version is best, i have an oem version of 7 somewhere that any good?

yeah with imgburn

i did - build mode, advanced mode, bootable disk, make image bootable, and then tried burning but didnt manage anything?

might try downloading that nero 6 trial to see if i have any luck with that instead :)
 
I had this problem on a new build and it was the dvd-rom drive causing the problem, it seemed to work fine but threw up errors during windows installation so I swapped out the drive and it was sorted and I threw the faulty brand new (Sony) dvd-rom drive in the bin.

thinking of getting anew dvdrw, and if its not that, then ive just got 2 drives :p lol
 
just ordered a new SATA dvdrw if its not that then atleast its something i can use if its not that

thats not going to be here until next tuesday though :( lol
 
UPDATE

put the new dvdrw in, has installed straight away...nearly cried as it brough up a copy error but pressing enter just redid it, must have been the dvdrw, ill try it when i get back into windows, as im sure it still works ill see what its capable of

thanks for everyones patience with me though :D

...its on the blue screen bit now where you put date and everything so not out of the woods yet :eek:
