European Health Insurance Card

Hi guys im off to Malia (Greek island) next week for 7 days with a few mates but i was just wandering do you HAVE to register and take a European Health Insurance Card even though we have health insurance?

I lose track of who is a member of the EU these days. They are, aren't they? :confused:

Anyway, assuming they are, you don't have to take one, but if you don't and get ill, then you may have to pay the medical bills up front. Don't expect your medical insurance to cover you for the whole cost either, because they probably won't.

Yup, order one online. Google for the .gov.uk site.

I ordered one last thursday for my trip this week. It arrived by saturday!

LOL since 1986 Malta and Cyprus are joining the Euro in January as well....

Some insurance companies insist that you have one and that you use it, other wise it invalidates your premium. Better carry one to be safe.
