RIP. :(

I get a green light on the mobo, but doesn't boot. Works with a Aspire 420W PSU)

How good is their RMA department? (turn around time.) I'm hoping it is a 3 year warranty too?

Trif.

(was bought November 05 IIRC)

Just be glad it didn't take out the rest of your components as they normally do:D

I wouldn't bother with a replacement just buy another and count yourself lucky.

As said above. Dont bother with the RMA. Just stump up for a different PSU that wont take your tower with it when it dies..

I have little intention of keeping it as a paper weight. ;) I have sent an email to Hiper. Awaiting (a hopefully quick) reply. 256MB of ram on server 2003 isn't enough. :(

Do you think a Aspire 420w is enough to power a;
AMD 64 3000
4 sticks of ram
7800GT
2x hdd
water pump?

I recently had to return a Hiper type R to Hiper. They ask for just the bare PSU and shipping costs were £8 and it took them about 10 days to send a replacement out to me from the day I sent them back the PSU, so not the quickest.

Mine died on me too but I can't find the receipt. Even tho the wee security sticker shows its less than 18 months old, they wont touch it. Can't say I'm very impressed with their PSU OR their service!

OCZ StealthXStream 600W.

Yay or Nay?

(It's from a local computer shop where I would almost rather die than give them nearly £60. Lol. [It's the only named brand one they sell too. <this is coming out of my get good 2.0 setup money :( .>])

/AH.

How noisy is noisy? My rear fan is quite noisy having to push the air through the poor designed radiator.

Goes off to search.

They are reliable though...?

Hiper should be good at rma's by now, what with all the failures. I really would do as suggested though. Rma it and stick the replacement on the bay. Personally, when my one blew up last year i had more satisfaction in using a sledgehammer on it. :D Unfortunately the Seasonic i got to replace it only lasted for 4 months before that blew up. Unlike the Hiper though it did'nt take anything with it. I now have a 700w OCZ Gamexstream and so far it has been excellent. Quiet and reliable. Then again so were the others until they blew up. :(

I had yet another blow up yesterday. My Enermax Liberty 400w modular blew after only 2 weeks. This was in my basic internet/letter writing pc so it was by no means anywhere near it's limit. That's another to rma. It just goes to show that sticking to the big brands does'nt mean that they will be any more reliable.

I talked myself out of going to get that PSU and I return to no email from them. :(

Ranting seems to work, even on a non related internet forum. :p

Atleast my PC will be tidy after all of this. Currently routing cables behind the mobo. :D
