Evo's, whats available?

why are you asking people on a forum? Go and test drive both of them. I dont think anyone who has replied actually owns an evo so far? All they are doing is complaining of the servicing costs and the insurance. If you have done the maths correctly and you think you can afford to run one, then do it. You are only young once.

Yeah, but for every 20 year old that can afford it,there's another 100 that post that can't... so you can kinda understand why.

From what i've read (I spend quite a bit of time on the MLR) the Evo isn't really an unreliable car and has relatively few problems (for example warping Brembo brake discs and Weak Clutches especially if you up the power.)
Generally speaking the 4G63 engine is solid, and you'd expect so after several iterations in 9 models.

I owned an Evo II for 2 years (when I was 18-20 
). Cost me £3300 to buy. Running it for the 18 months cost me £2500 (clutch, 2 sets of tyres, brakes + pads, cambelt, services, etc) . Sold it on then for £2700 so cost me a total of £3100 including depreciation. (works out at £129/month).
I thought that was quite good considering the performance you get! Buy a new Corsa and it would probably cost you the same taking into account depreciation!
Petrol cost me around £40 a week and that used to cover 120-180 miles. (13mpg average)
