Airborne release tommorow!

Mohaa was the first online game I really got into, I spent hundreds of hours playing the classic maps the hunt/bridge/v2/omaha. I just hope the online side can at least match MOHAA, especially with the new game having some old allied assault mp maps included.

the demo was crap though :S

The demo around the web has received more positive comments than negative comments. Most people tried it thinking "yay another ww2 game how original" and came back form playing the demo impressed or raving about it.

ww2 has been done to death, this added nothing to the genre apart from annoying blur effects when you run.

Not too sure whether to buy it or not. Wasnt impressed with the demo, it really just felt like a competent 'seen it all before' ww2 shooter plus i felt the upgrade system seemed ridiculously out of place in this type of game.

Having said that I would kill for the mp to be as fun and well balanced as it was in allied assault. Hell i'd settle for the original allied assault mp game rehashed with better visuals and decent anticheat protection. Oddly i dont seem to crave innovation and progress in mp games the way i expect it in sp games .

LOL, i suppose being able to drop into a level wherever you want instead of being stuck on rails ala call of duty isn't a big addition to the game?

WW2 are my FAV, I do not like the Modern Warfare ones, although Rainbow 6 Vegas was ok but not a war game, I dont think I will like COD4.

MOH-AA was one of my 1st PC games and really great, still aint bad today.

you cant drop in to a level wherever you want though, your forced out of the plane so theres only a couple of viable landing areas to choose from. They might as well me called spawn points.

Heh, I remember Hunt and V2 fondly. That was when you could take a few hits and walk away :) I really lost interest when these WW2 games started going a bit overboard on the realism side of things ie. one or 2 hits and you're dead.

I played the demo of Airborne and was impressed, but wasn't too keen on the fact that you had to earn better skills like accuracy, wonder how that works in multi-player.

Well I still love the ww2 format, however what I love more is a FPS shooter with a decent combat model and I think that the demo showed that this game has it in spades.

Whether they have built a good game around it all remains to be seen. Though I think I will have fun finding out.

The lean while looking through the irons was a great addition and it will be interesting to see if it adds to the multiplayer experience (last time I saw something similar to this was in IGI2 I believe).

What with this and Brothers in Arms: hells highway (Unreal engine and essentially Rainbow Six: Vegas in ww2 era - how good will this be?!?!? :D), and COD4 in a few months, anyone who loves combat arcade shooters will be more than catered for.

Got it on pre order. Going to see what the mp is like....

Why on earth cant they release on the same day. Stupid. Just stupid.

Europe always gets mugged off with release dates. I'm looking forward to droping into the Hunt and seeing it in it's UE3 glory.

CoD4 takes CoD1+2 and puts them to shame.

Well, the multiplayer side of it anyway. (Beta)
