Why do you listen to music?

It isn't a compulsion. Much like your computers and your weight lifting, it is something those people enjoy, and as with most things people enjoy, they seek to do it as much as possible.

He's just playing up to it now.

Lets stop feeding the troll.

How about we give the guy a break and let him post in any style he chooses?

If it bother people that much, don't read his threads, simple isn't it?

Angus, what are you views on comedy within music? Have you ever heard a track that makes you laugh?

I listen to music to feel free, truly free, I enjoy the euphoric feeling it gives me, it's a feeling that's very hard to put into words, I suppose it feels like being in love but only better, from my earlist memorys I rememember being amazed at how sound effects your feelings, for many years I thought sound/music had the same effect on everyone, for example while typing this post I whacked on a Daft Punk track, closed my eyes for a few secounds to really feels the waves and straight away I've got tears running down my cheeks, crazy I know, I'm just thankfull I can get this feeling from music as it has really helped me through the darker times in my life.

I know exactly what you mean. This track does that to me if i'm in the mood. It's beautiful . If you haven't heard it before, listen to the whole track.

Old School tune... Mauro Picotto - Back to Cali. Rollercoaster of emotions if you're into House music :)

P.S. Mauro did this during a live set one night at Turnmills in Farringdon. We all went absolutely ballistic, I wanna be back there now :(

I probably have at some point. It is a profitable form of entertainment (I presume) and therefore I view it as a useful economic activity (it being the business surrounding the aforementioned music).

I listen to music in order to escape and be left alone. Usually when at home i have head phones on and sit in the garden with a book and just relax. I mainly listen to slow and soft music for this.

As a guitarist..of sorts:) I spend a long time playing to myself, I have a few friends who play and I also enjoy listening to them, it has cost us thousands over the years so it isn't profitable for us, money changing hands has little to do with the enjoyment of simply listening.

I'm not sure it is economically useful for anyone other than successful bands and record companies, listening to music costs me money if you want to look at it like that.

Could you repeat (by repeat I mean type again[if you get my drift{you know, the gist}]) in English please? :(

You do realise the everything you typed in brackets is completely unnecessary and only serves to complicate your posts to the point of being annoying?

He does it on purpose now.

I listen to music because it's relaxing, energising, or cheering - and it's comforting to have some background noise :)

Fixed. :p

Seriously though, even with the brackets fixed, I hope you don't talk like that in real life :(

You have demonstrated one of my reasons for using the brackets.

I was referring to the "aforementioned music", not the "music business" (the "aforementioned music" being comedy music).

Oh COME ON! Not at all! You have missed my point entirely.

Why not just say "comedy music" then, ala:

Happy? What do you say to that now?

Furthermore, see how even though you used brackets I still didn't know which you meant? That is evidence in itself that you're being obscure, regardless of whether it was technically accurate or not.

Seriously dude...

And I hope your future career doesn't involve writing educational textbooks, the students would simply cry :p

I just type how I think. I try to make things accurate. People should just answer the question in the original post and leave it. I am not asking for a critique of my posting style as I see no problem with it, and would have great difficulty changing it.

The problem is that your use of parentheses indicates bad structure. But I don't mind, at least it makes your posts a bit different.

Back OT, music gives me positive emotions. It's hard to explain specifically why I like music because it's hard to explain emotions. Imagine having euphoria on tap. That's what music can give me. :)

Have you ever read The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro?
