Halo Question(s)

I thought so.

Not the same game imo.

I have to agree.

Halo for the Xbox on Legendary is one of my favourite ever games. I bought the pc version for online MP and was very disappointed. The balance that makes Halo's combat the best i've seen in a single player fps was borked.

Everything since - Far Cry, HL2, FEAR, Prey - has been a step back in gunplay. Fun games, sure, but no-brainer point and click in comprison.

Halo 2 was a massive let down, though. Fingers crossed for no.3 :)

The only thing i didn't like about legendary is that your squad got killed far too easy.In heroic i would try and save as many as possible and in the large battles they were great to have around.

The vid i posted in the other Halo 3 thread of the guy trying to take on the dropship on his own made me laugh.I hope they have as much character in 3 as they did in 1.

Que? Squad? Weren't they just bipedal ammo crates?

I thought that too :p I just killed them straight away for Assault rifle/sniper ammo and grenades.

One thing I am look forward too though is filling up the Warthog APC (dunno right name for it) with marines armed with either rocket launchers or fuel rod cannons and seeing the destruction unfold :D

If you don't like Halo, don't bother with Halo 3. It's that simple. You are not going to get much different as it is for the fans. Yes to me Halo: Combat Evolved is the finest FPS on any platform but I am not going to try and kid anyone by saying that anyone and everyone will like the series as a whole, or Halo 3 on its own. There is a very strong chance that Halo: Combat Evolved will remain the best of the trilogy (much like people still regard VII as the best Final Fantasy or Orcarina of Time as the best Zelda) simply because it came together freakishly well. Halo 2 and 3 are just attempts at recapturing the essence and neither comes close in my opinion. I've only participated in the beta for Halo 3 and viewed single player footage which still scarily looks too much like Halo 2 in terms of blandness, linearity and combat, but the bottom line is: if you don't like any Halo, it's not for you and never will be.

Halo is balls single player. People buy halo 2 because it's still the best example of online multiplayer console FPS there is.
