If someone were to ask Angus what his name was, would he reply..

"Angus Higgins

Angus Higgins"

I love the email address as well.

This reminds me of that Jacob Billings crap tbh. Completely unfunny.

I really cant see what the big deal is. If it bothers you so much, write a Greasemonkey script or something to remove the brackets automatically.

In fact, he seems to be joining in!

it's more than that, he's milking every last drop. he never used to post like that. it's only been the last week or so.

i used to think he was an old git by the good english he used and was quite surprised (in a good way) to find out he was so young. :)

but this parentheses crap recently has been pathetic and he deserves all the abuse he gets. attention seeking. that's all it is. sorry angus, no offence but that's how i see it. :/

What do you mean by "no offence"? How can I not take "offence" to this?

If in fact I am "attention seeking" then I have been doing so on several different forums for an extended period of time (and the only problems I have ever had with my posting style have been in the past week on OcUK).

Why do I "deserve all the abuse he [ I ] gets [get]"? (The spacing ["[ I ]"] is due to a grammatical error incurred when I posted in the correct format). Maybe people should try to understand that when people over-analyse the posts of another user they will spot traits more easily. Also I dislike to argue in a bad style. My use of brackets is generally to ensure that there could be no misunderstanding of what I mean (although many people disagree [I cannot see how it could cause confusion however]); is it not predictable (obvious [dare I say?]) that this practice will increase in argument? When one is in an argument (or debate [people would contest this I am sure]) one tends to have to be incredibly precise lest one be willing to waste hundreds of posts in order to sort out the posts which have misunderstood something; this is a possible reason for an increase in brackets.
