I didn't know this though. To me it just looked like a rough pub. Obviously my opinion has changed as it has a cracking selection of beers etc.

Also, Thomas Rigbys down the road serves Sierra Nevada on draught and also The Fly In The Loaf on Hardman St is an awesome pub too, plenty of students!

Ship n mitre has a great selection but it's....well...basic. Rigbys is a good pub as is fly in the loaf. Perhaps try Ye Cracke if you fancy drinking in John Lennon's old local.

The ship and mitre is a great pub...it just needs a good clean. And that includes the patrons!

My fave hidden gem in Liverpool is The Roscoe Head. On a side street just off Hardman Street, serves Jennings ales on draft.

Another place Ive been past but have meant to a few times. If they have Sneck Lifter Im there already. One of the best pints Ive had was Landlord in the Dispensary on Renshaw St.

Try okells bitter in the fly in the loaf or rigbys. It's a cracking pint.
