Hey,

I have to ship back a HDD to WD who are located in Germany, I have never sent anything like this to another country so have no idea how much it costs and the best way to do it. The HDD is a Raptor and worth $140 according to WD so it will need insurance and it weights about .9kg.

I got an estimate with UPS ( the carrier WD used) and it came to £36!! Surely there is a cheaper method of sending it too Germany? I have 30 days to send it so the slowest option would be best! I had a look at payperdrop who I have used before for UK deliveries and even they wanted £20, is there anyone who will do it for say £10?

The address it needs sending too:
Western Digital Service Center
C/o EGL
Am Suedpark 10
D-65451 Kelsterbach
Deutschland (Germany)

Thanks!

You can send via Airsure which will be around £10 to Germany and take a few days.

Alternatively you can use DPD which will be around £20 and also take a few days , but will be a courier instead of through standard post. You can book a DPD/Parcelline collection via some of their agents such as www.wedelivertheworld.co.uk

I sent a 1.2kg package to that exact address and it only cost £7 from the post office (insured to £75).

Edit - it appears to have gone up now. But should still be ~£10. Airsure recorded.

I edited. Airsure recorded. £4.20 + airmail cost (should be £1 for < 1kg - BUT they introduced size and weight stuff now....)

Ok cool thanks for help guys appreciate it! I think I will use Royal Mail then as they seem a lot cheaper than UPS! WD were even nice enough to give me some nice packaging :D
