Hi,

I'm looking for a CPU (LGA775) cooler for less than £30 and it's quiet.

I'm pulled towards the Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B CPU Cooler.

Is this my best option?

thanks

I see you're currently using a Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. How's that?

My budget appears to have slowly crept up from stock to a Freezer 7 and now possibly to a Thermaltake BigTyp 120 VX. I have freezer 64 at the moment and I didn't think it was too bad but I want this new build to be really quiet and still allow me to overclock.

but I want this new build to be really quiet and still allow me to overclock.

Thermalright HR-01 with the 120mm fan duct adds no noise at all to your PC (it uses the rear case fan) and it's currently holding my 3.6GHz G0 Q6600 to under 70C maxed out 24/7 running F@H.

The HR-01 looks good but unfortunately I need it by Friday. I can't find anywhere that does next day and prices it reasonably.

It's a great cooler, nice for adding to the machine even if you aren't overclocking as it's near silent when in low rpm mode. It's good for overclocking too but I guess it depends on what chip, something like my chip is okay but something like a quad would probably need something like the Ninja / BigTyp VX. I did actually own a Scythe Ninja about a month ago, used it for a week and sold it on (wasn't as good as I was hoping and was little improvement for me over my AF7 Pro).
