Pavarotti close to death.

The Sun Online said:
OPERA giant Luciano Pavarotti was reported to be close to death last night after his kidneys failed and he lapsed into unconsciousness.

The 71-year-old tenor, whose signature aria Nessun Dorma became a football anthem, has been battling pancreatic cancer for more than a year.
His condition was described as “very grave” as he stayed alongside wife Nicoletta and daughter Alice, three, at his home in Modena, Italy.
Television reports claimed his health had “worsened considerably”.
Pavarotti was released last month from Modena hospital, where reports suggested he was suffering from pneumonia.
Weeks earlier Giuliana, his 40-year-old daughter by first wife Adua, admitted he was near death and spending his time playing cards with pals.
Last night his agent Terri Robson was in Italy and unavailable to comment on the latest reports. A hospital spokesman said there were no plans to re-admit him.
News of the star’s deterioration came hours after he made his first public comment for nine months — issuing a statement to accept a cultural award.

Never knew he was ill, and I really hope I look like that when I get to 71, poor bloke :(

Yeah, poor guy, actually heard Nessun Dorma the other day, remembered how it really took him to fame in the eyes on "none opera" people in 1990, wow, that was a long time ago.

Feel very bad for the guy, if the worst comes to the worst, i just hope it can be as quick & painless as possible for him, he'll be missed thats for sure. :(

My sentiments exactly, any sort of pain, especially through Cancer must be so horrible, I cant imagine how his family feels.

I'll be sorry to see the jolly old fellow go, he always seemed to be the embodiment of cheerfulness to me, and he does have a very beautiful voice... :(

One of very few genuine naturals in music, and an astoundingly beautiful voice, I always respected the guy for having the tenacity to fight for his dream of being a singer despite coming from a poor working class family and frequently being the target of discrimination and hostility from the operatic and show business establishment. He's been unjustly slagged off by many, but he never lost his bonhomie and continued making people happy with his voice.
We'll miss you big guy!

Probably the only guy in music that 'everyone' thought was a talented genius, wether you're into rap, reggie, metal or what ever...
