Im considering getting one as my PSP is a little worse for ware, has been dropped a few times and had a can of coke explode on it, still works, apart from the wireless switch, and sometimes the square button sticks, but blowing on it sorts that out :p lol

the quicker loading times seems like it could be worth the switch

a certian shop has a trade in where you take a PSP or DS Lite in and get the new console for £70 instead of £130...doubt mine would pass for trade in though :p ill just give it to our lass and let her play loco roco to her hearts content

I might end up with one..I ordered a PSP over a month ago now but just keep getting letters saying stock will be due on x date, then on that date I get another letter lol.

Wondering if now ill end up with a new model if there having stock probs with the old one?

I think they stopped making the old PSP a while ago, some places have old stock still. Im getting a new PSP for Christmas, like to have it sooner and get it myself, although its not a drastic improvement its still an improvement with games loading up to twice as fast and the TV out looks good. Also be useful with my PS3, be nice if more games goes down the Lair route and have it remote playable on the PSP, also all the other remote features, watching live TV, remote play of Vids/ photos etc. The Sat nav for it looks far better than ive seen on anything else, and it looks like maps will be available easily.

I don't think the remote play for games really translates well for games like LAIR tbh. Turn based strategy games and games like champ man would be pretty good on it though I imagine,

Yeah thats what i mean, games such as FF13 would be great, anything that wouldnt have a problem with the Lag ie no fast paced action games.

Possibly, I got an old style one recently but will only get a new one if I can use it in certain ways.

I'm tempted to get one for use (or just display) alongside my launch day PSP, however I'm not convinced that making the thing slimmer and lighter will mean my hands wont cramp like hell from the crab like position they are forced into to use the thing.
The size was never the issue with the PSP so this redesign is slightly disappointing.

Tv output is a major plus though, anyone know if the cable for it is included in the box?

I was thinking about getting one, until I realised you need a TV with component in to play the games on your telly.

You do, but to be honest who wants to play a PSP on a TV? I wouldn't have thought too many people do, maybe I'm wrong.

getting one myself, gonna trade my old one in tomorrow - been quoted an 80 pound trade in value for it by a high street retailer

I though about that as well, I guess it will look horrible on my 40" LCD due to the very low resolution, besides I have a PS3 for that.

The same goes for UMD movies, why spend more to get a UMD version and then play it in low res on the TV when a DVD is cheaper and offers far better quality

I'm hoping it will make old 2nd hand PSP's dirt cheap :) So I can get one and customise it.

I've had a look at new vs old and it's not a huge difference - it's definately an improvement but the reason I'm not interested is I'm sure Sony will have plugged all the security holes :(

Looks is one thing, it is a bit smaller but it is also lighter and the batteries last longer (and perhaps it has a faster CPU but I haven't heard about that)

Yea I would love a new one but homebrew is way too important to give up imo, Sorry for bringing the thread down a bit, but i dont feel the new features will be worth the loss of it, my PSP is just way too customised.

Well since I've mine modded it can run pretty much any PSX game, so the option of hooking it up to the TV appeals to me. Although I'm not sure how long it'll take for them to find out a way to run homebrew on it.
