OcUK Yorkshire 'Motors Meet' No.5 - 16th September 2007

Cool beans :)

Right, bit of information regarding the route for all the newbies attending...

Info for new attendees

After meeting at the services, proceed to Junction 22. Now, watch the road off this exit because it's quite a fast bend and there's a cattle grid at the end. Don't want anyone locking up and sliding into oncoming traffic.

At the junction turn left and continue along the road until you get to a big reservoir on your right. There's a pub on the left called "The Turnpike Inn" with a carpark. You can't miss it (unless you're Coco). This is where we'll be eating.

After the meal, turn left out of the pub car park and down the hill. You'll enter a small village so no silly driving please. Keep on going until you get to a set of traffic lights. People may get lost at this point, so as long as you remember to turn right after the lights there'll be no problems... that's the first right turning!!

Carry on up the very steep hill (watch out for the bend at the top - it's a blind bend). Once you've rounded the bend keep on going up, around a right-hander and you'll see the road forks off in front of you. Turn right here.

Go down this road to the crossroads and turn right, over a speed bump and upto a STOP sign. Turn right here and all that's left to say is... enjoy yourselves ;)

Follow the road until you get to another junction and turn right. This junction is known as 'dead mans junction' for a reason. It's shortly after the big long bumpy straight so keep an eye out for it. Follow the road some more and eventually you'll end up back in a 30 limit. Keep on going until you get to the junction at the end of the road. Turn right and you'll see "The Junction Inn". Turn left immediately after the pub to enter the car park.

If you don't turn, you'll go along some more country roads and end up back at Junction 22.

Must remember to leave later next time, left at about 5am last time, drove at 55mph and STILL got there about an hour before everyone else :p

I guess the pub we're going to is the one which was closed for refurbishment last time?

Really looking forward to this, will give my car a nice thrashing and get as close to 12k miles for its service the following day :p

That's correct Rob. Forgot you'd been there before when the route had to be changed.

Hopefully should all go smoothly this time.

Wont be able to attend this time :(

Snowed last time I went :D Was great fun....
