Confused by Tiger Woods 08

My disc looks fine, but the same as others cant finish some challenges just locks up the Xbox, I read the clearing the cache can work but never for me, also read if you use a memory card instead of HDD it works but not sure why that would be the case.
 
I found that i order to get a straight drive I have to actually look at the controller whilst I'm doing the swing! It's ok with approach and chips but for drives I'm just not accurate enough if I keep looking at the screen.
 
I've been using 3 click for my driving so far, I can get a much better drive with power boost that way rather than swinging the stick and mashing the left bumper at the same time :p
 
yeah the 3 click system is much easier, but you can't use it on tour pro so best to learn the swing again i think, do agree though its much harder to keep it straight this time round, even with my drive accuracy at max.

Aye, I told myself I wouldn't use the 3 click but it's just so much easier to get a bit of extra power that way. I can use the normal swing fine, it just goes a bit wonky when I try boosting :p
 
what is the 3 click technique never heard of it always use the normal swing mashing left bumper technique and can get straight shot every time .
 
3 click method is push the left stick down to bring up the power meter
push the A button to start the meter moving upwards
Push the A button again when you want the power to stop
Then push the A button again as it reaches the "white line" for the draw/fade.

One bloke had a challenge set up today on one of the holes: 307 par 4
Bounce in the area, hit the pin and hole in 1.
Did it on my 4th attempt, classic:p
This was on the demo version.
I have 07 on the PS3 and love it, so I may get this version for the 360.

Click right stick on the 360 version to bring up the power bar.
 
The very last challenge I have to do is the Carnoustie One Ball match against Michael Campbell and it locks up on the second (16th) hole. The clear cache is definitely not working here. $#@&!!!

I'm getting this problem too except I'm getting it when I am playing against Henrietta Brockway. It also locks up after the second hole which is also on the Carnoustie course. Very frustrating.
 
Ok, I managed to get past the problem with the game freezing. So far it seems to have worked, I'm now on the fourth hole playing Henrietta Brockway whereas it would reliably freeze while it was loading the third hole previously.

This is what I did:

***** has discovered a new way to clear the Xbox 360 hard drive cache. Previously, you needed to reset your Xbox 360, and hold down the A button as a game was booting up. This new code allows you to clear the entire hard drive cache:

Go to the system blade and then select memory.


Press Y on the HD symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?

Performing this function will also clear any software updates.

It seems to have worked for me so it might be worth a try for others.
 
lol whats 3 click method ..............obviously no leaderboard players on here then :P ah the memories.....

bujt i prefer using the stick now
 
I have been getting lock ups on other courses since having the "Carnoustie Freeze". Just playing the odd round on the traditional modes it happens randomly, last time it was the 3rd hole on St Andrews playing Bloodsome. Same freeze though - halfway into loading the next hole. I did manage the last Tiger Challenge in the end after about 15 attempts to get past the freeze.

I spoke to the place I got my game from last night and they wern't aware of the issues people are having with this game. I was advised to bring it back for a refund. Think I might do that now I've all but finished it anyway.
 
Seems there is a downloadable fix on xbox live now for the freezing issue, which is fine if you have a net connection to connect the xbox to for the free patch. If you don't there isnt a patch you can download to install on a non netted 360, this seems madness really.
