My 40D arrived today, my first impressions of it... Love it.
The build quality is spot on, it feels just a little bigger than the 20D I'm used to but it feels nicer in my opinion. I haven't had time to read through the manual yet and I can see there's lots of new stuff which I need to check out. I turned the camera on a took a quick shot, at that point I could see that the metering was pretty accurate, reproducing colours accuratly.
The menu is easy to navigate and has easy access to the options. On the Mode dial there are 3 settings for User settings (custom settings) which is nice and something I didn't have on the 20D. I haven't tried the live view yet but look forward to trying the camera out fully the weekend.
Anyway before anyone asks, here's a quick shot I took just now, the shot was hand held and not adjusted, as it came from camera.
The weather forecast looks good the weekend so I'll post some proper shots when I've given it a good test drive
