Mclaren might be in the poo big time [ANCIENT THREAD REVIVAL]

If mclaren are banned from f1 for a year or two, what will that do for the sport? commercial suicide, more likely a huge fine me thinks.

"Do you know that I've found out how Ferrari is able to get its tires to work to perfection?" de la Rosa was quoted as writing to Alonso earlier this year.

how how how? lol, come on tell us? do they put them in the microwave?

I'm scared what this will do to F1. As above, if McLaren are disqualified it will be a sad state of affairs.

While I think McLaren being banned would be really bad for the sport... Its plain cheating(if its all true, might I add).

F1 has survived worse than this - the FISA/FOCA war was much more destabilising than this saga.

Ahaaaaa, interesting read. Just googled it (was before I got hooked to be honest) and was certainly an interesting time in F1. It ultimately benefited F1 though from how it reads but at the time, yes it certainly was a tough situation.

Who knows where this may take us then...

cheating it may be but from what was said at the start of this whole thing, its not an uncommon thing to occur, just this time someone was caught.
i'm not trying to justify anything if the cheated then they cheated.
but it would be a damn shame if they were to be disqualified, this is one of the most enjoyable seasons in a long time, to be spoiled by this is just frustrating.

i reckon if mclaren were to be disqualified i'd probably loose all intrest in F1, it'd be the last nail in the coffin. they are probably the only reason i watch f1 these days, i've enjoyed watching there cars and drivers since i was old enough to understand what was going on, just wouldnt be the same without them.
i'm probably jumping the gun a bit though, just have to see what happens.

100% agree.

F1, as a spectator sport and an enjoyable spectacle, was just getting back on track.

EDIT- just noticed the cringeworthy pun. Four cans of Carling, sorry :(

I could live with Mclaren earning no manufacturers points this year.

So long as they're all there next year, Especially with traction control on the way out and movable down force surfaces on the way in. Should produce some much more intelligent rear wings on road cars.
