I'm thinking of taking up rock climbing again. I used to do it at outdoor pursuits at school up at the lake district but I'm looking for something indoors around Bolton (Manchester).

Does anyone know of any decent places that you can do it near Bolton?

Looking for something that you don't really need to be a member of, just to see if I still like it.

Appreciate any suggestions/comments etc.

Cheers

Rick

there is a big place in the centre of manchester, near the carling academy.

Howe bridge sports centre has an indoor climbing wall. Look for Atherton and Leigh, its inbetween them.

Also St.George's woods is near northwest Bolton and there are a few Quarrys up there you can go climbing. Careful if its wet, gets slippy!

Yeah thats a bit of a drive.

Does the trafford centre not having anything on that site? What with the soccer dome/Ski dome and golf range, I thought they might have a rock climbing face ro something.

Got to be the worst site i've seen in a loooong time. It doesn't tell you a thing!

Click the top left MCC sign. The virtual tour is great.

I go climbing quite often...Well used to be able to up until this summer while I was at university in Wales.

Id go to the Beacon near Bangor its great. about the same standard as the MCC by the looks of things.
