Spec me a cable/router before 10am

SORRY!!!!!

Just realised you want a cable router!!!
DOH!! :o

Anyway I've always used netgear so they may be good for cable also!!!

Bought one off Yewen at around 10:30 and its just taken 3.5 hours to get the Linksys WRT54GL working:(
I've tried it on both XP and Vista and had so many errors I couldn't count them.
Funnily enough I was just about to repack it and have something else when I clicked on my browser and its working:confused:

Strange

I've just been having a look at some of the reviews on a competitors website, there are a small number of people who have had problems with it.

Do you have any idea what was wrong with it? I've purchased the WRT54GS with a USB and PCI linksys adapters.

In Vista I could get to a 'Checking Computer' test and then an 'Enter Password' screen came up.
I must have entered well over a 100 different passwords (some repeated) and every now and then it would go to a crash (the password wasn't ADMIN either).
Only once in 3.5 hours did I get to a page where I had to enter IP addresses etc and when I got past that page it crashed.
Not once did it get to the end of the setup.
I was in XP when I decided to give up and take it back for another make when I decided to open firefox and on came Google:confused:
I booted into Vista and it was working.

Can you login to the router as you please now?

If not, try resetting it - there's usually a button at the back that you hold in for about 30 seconds.

If the reset doesn't help, I'd take it back for a replacement TBH.

Do it before OcUK close. :D

Well if it's fine now, then just keep it. :)

I know I keep on harping about the Tomato firmware. But it really does offer much more than the Linksys firmware. It is also lightweight and stable as a rock.

I use it on my own Linksys WRT54GS v1.1, and it's maybe once every couple of months I unplug the router.

If I were you, give it some consideration.
