England v Israel and Russia **Spoilers**

Crouch has been scoring when he's played for England and thats all that matters.

And as for the fouls he gives, we all know he gets targeted by refs.

It was a pathetic attack on Crouch. Crouch scores yet gets attacked, mainly by United fans, for his shortcomings while his plus points get overlooked. Heskey did play well but Crouch is far more of a threat and his goalscoring record for England isn't a joke unlike Heskeys. Having said that, I think the same team deserves to play again on Wednesday as I said above.

Agree. I was annoyed with Crouch at the time for getting a yellow for a stupid foul and it may well cost him in the long run. He'd been playing really well over the last year or so for England and more importantly kept on scoring but with Heskey's performance today, the fact that Heskey is Owen's prefered partner and with Rooney to come back (and we all know Rooney is going to start despite doing **** all for a long time) its going to be difficult for him to get back into the side.

Rubbish whenever Crouch goes for the ball its a free-kick, it looks ungainly because of how tall he is but 99% of the time the replay shows he done nothing wrong.

Best England performance in ages. We actually went out and played decent football for 90 minutes, rather than stringing together 20 good minutes and 70 minutes of utter dross. We played with much better shape with Heskey toughing it up front in the middle, and Ashley and Micah romping up the wings. None of that hit it up front and hope nonsense that's tainted our recent performances either.

Now, sure, Israel were pretty damn poor but it was still a good showing from our boys. I really wasn't expected a performance from us today; I'm pleased to say I was wrong.

Heskey did well today but I would still bring Crouch back for the game against Russia, him and Owen could be a prolific partnership up front. If Rooney was fit he would be 4th choice right now as far as I'm concerned.

We played well, jesus cant believe ive said that. :p

That was a cracking goal from Richards, very good player him, and Wright-Phillips done well to, lovely goal he scored, and glad to see Owen finally getting a one.

Very surprised we didn't get a Robinson howler, but he didnt have to do owt. :D

I really didn't think I'd be saying this but i enjoyed that game . The team was a team for once and worked well all over the park, apart from a period in the first half i thought we played very well and thoroughly deserved the scoreline. Wright-Philips and Richards look superb down the right, and dare i say it Heskey actually managed to contribute to the game.

Have to try and remember it was only Israel though and although it was a decent result it still hasn't papered over any cracks just yet. Finishing top of the group will help but i still think we'll be short of getting a result next year.

99% of the time its because hes a clumsy **** and he makes it look clumsy as well, thats why he gets targeted

Heskeys performance today was very pleasing, shutting up a lot of people doubting him and McLaren. Heskey>Crotch.

Shaun Wright-Phillips was brilliant, and so was Owen.

England for the European Cup. :O

The midfeild was much better. Didnt have the 2 big heads in the center. Actually ment that there wasnt any alpha power struggles either. Keep the same midfield and defence, maybe chnge the upfront as England have depth now.

I think Gareth Barrys performance was the difference in all honesty.

What he did was look for a forward pass first, sideways second then back if there were no options. That cannot be said for other midfielder we have had in the side.

No doubt in my mind lamps / hargreaves will be fit and barry dropped but in my view he was superb yesterday.

HEskey as well played fantastically well his link up play was a joy to watch.

Same team for wednesday no doubt in my mind, the reality though will be different.

Did anyone go to Wembley and watch the game live? I was there :D

It was a really good game to watch, i thoroughly enjoyed it :)

I thought it would be a nightmare getting there and back on the trains, but i would like to give a big thumbs up to Chiltern Railways :D took an hour to get there from Oxford and only 2 hours to get back, i thought i would have to wait hours to get on a train but we only had to wait 30 minutes after the game.
