Anyone used Plone?

Just came across this. It looks quite nice and i'm thinking of using it for a project.

However, i've never really found cutomising themes easy on a CMS compared to normal XHTML/CSS.

Has anyone had experience with this?

I have some experience of it. Used it for a Web development module at Uni. I think its quite flexible. I once looked up some sites/companies that use Plone and I was quite amazed how many of them did! And how I couldn't tell it was a CMS/Plone.

I think you need special web servers for this, either your own or servers that allow you pretty much full control over the server.

My module lecturer had a server in his office or somewhere and so could do what he liked with it.

I did the exact same module at the same uni with the same bonehead teacher. Plone is evil. I am sure there are better CMSs out there.

I was going to mention that although I like Plone, I would say a lot of other students on the course absolutely hate it with a passion and also the lecturer for his love of Plone etc.
