XFACTOR!!!! ITS BACK!!!

Its probably my most favourite program on TV and I watch all the Xtra Factors too.
Gets a bit boring when it gets down to the last eight.

Of course its manufactured.
Contestants have to get through 2 or 3 panels before they get to the judges and the panels obviously pick the best for TV.

It constantly amazes me that contestants think they are good.
Two weeks ago I was asked to go and give constructive criticism to a vocal trio with their permission.
At the end of the night I had the female crying because I told her that she couldn't hold a tune all the way through.
HOWEVER, looking at the Workingmens audience made me realise that no-one else knew.

It is absolutely astounding how people can delude themselves into thinking they have a chance, either that or there are a lot of bets going on. Still it does make excellent telly and I do so like watching people set themselves up for a fall, far more satisfying than when they are set up by others.

What I totally disagree with are those they let on who obviously have learning difficulties etc and then Cowell decides to trash them.
Sharon & Louis can obviously tell those who are two sandwiches short of a picnic but Cowell doesn't seem to have that ability to let them down gently.
Mind you, there was one girl on at the start and my wife who is a 'Speech & Language' teacher said straight away 'Speech & Language' (its the new PC word for being a bit backward).
Sharon went on to to say 'What have her parents done?'.
I honestly think there should be some psychology expert present to advise what to say to some of them.

But I don't think I'll watch it at all this year because I'm a fan of American Idol and the talent level on there is twenty times higher than on X-factor.
You should, really watch the auditions...

For all those who don't like people's 'hearts being broken' I don't see how its a problem, I'd rather know I was a great smelly turd of a singer than be told I was bloody awesome when I wasn't...

The problem is not the way it is judged, its the way people go in there, some of them are so convinced by themselves and their family that they have talent that ehy're living in a dream bubble, best it is popped. People should accept the criticism of people who KNOW the bunsiness rather than people who just want to be in it...

For example, I've seen some right plonkers who look like idiots go in there and they're great. But then there's people like that lass that has spent something like £20,000 on singing tuition, courses and developing her singing and she was utter trash, seriously terrible. Her whole family was in there saying "give her another chance" and saying she was "great" and had "loads of qualifications" but it doesn't mean beans if you don't have any talent to begin with... It's a wake up call to culture itself.

Though Pete docherty is the exception not the rule :s

Don't see why people hate this. I cant understand all of the other programs that are similar like come dancing etc, but X-factor is the best of the lot.

Absolute quality. :D

According to a friend of mine, a guy who i worked with when i was 16 got onto the show, and sang "Puff the Magic Dragon".. He also got onto tv it seems...

Has anyone else seen this ? His name is David Hutchinson.

I dont watch stuff like this, but i need to find a video of it :p

I absolutely love the first parts of the X Factor. It's great to see people make such a total fool of themselves and the judges comments can be hilarious. Once they get rid of the crap and becomes more serious it gets boring and I stop watching it though.

Ditto.

No idea why so many people hate it, The Auditions are the only reason i watch it and they are pretty hilarious, big brother doesnt come close to it.

But Simon Cowell against some of the snotty contestants is funny stuff.

I've been a semi pro/pro singer for 37 years and sometimes people are very surprised that I watch it but its hilarious.
Only on saturday I'm babysitting my nephew and my bro in law is going out to play drums with his band.
I'm searching for the remote to change to ITV2, he was gobsmacked that a singer of my standard would watch such dross and claimed he'd never watched it (or just snippets).
Just has he said that a fat bird come on in a wedding dress and I knew exactly how her story would unfold - of course it was a bonus to see her roly poly family.
Me & the wife sat their crying with laughter while he stood their perplexed.

Now I have a theory about this : It is fact that at least 60% of an audience are tone deaf so its possible those who don't find it funny are the ones who think that everybody sounds OK.
They are also the ones who tell their mate that they're good on the karaoke.
He went to see Prince on thursday and I asked my sister what it was like - she said it was awful, the sound was all over the place and Princes voice wasn't too good.
He came down and said the show was perfect.
