i get about 240fps on stock level

E6420 + 640mb 8800GTS

thats with everything on full btw

ah man, with my AMD x2 4200 (2.6GHz) and X1900XT 512MB i get 165 everything maxed.

but when it used to be in my 900 it was clocked with its pants off and i got something like 198 cpu @ 2.85 and the X1900 overclocked something ridiculous.

i remember having about a 40fps drop in vista. but back to xp as there was graphical stuttering and not very well optimized drivers.

That's an amazing score you have their for a 7900GT, are you sure you have everything on the max though? do you have AA enabled? With my HD2900XT i score 166 fps, that's with 16xAF and 8xMASAA @ 1680X1050.

yeah everything is on max, 16x AF and 8xAA

And I've just run it again on 1280x1024 and got 229fps

I get 250fps with everything on max. I think this is the limit for the game as even when running on low quality I still get 250fps.

Running at 1440x900 with spec in sig.

thats certainly not the limit for the game...i think its 500 but its been a while so i could be wrong.

250 will be the limit of your cpu

Vista seems to impact my score a fair bit.

vista knocks about 100fps off on my system..compared to xp

Probably not, Im sceptical whether any current pc tech could really maintain that framerate in Source anyway. In 5 years time perhaps...

strange i get just under 50 more then you and i'm on basically the exact same spec, X1900XT, 4200x2 @ 2.6, 2GB ram

Please note - these intel chips coupled with good mobo and nvidia chips are unbelievable they outperform ati's offering now.

Im curious, does he mean nvida chipset boards? if so then i beleive the P35 boards run the intel chips better.

thats correct 8) lots of people have had better clocks with the P35 chipset sometimes even with lower volts. shame the P35 is optimized more for ATi, was looking forward to a amazing chipset and SLi but my dreams are shattered

Hmm must have done something or had something running in the bg last time round as now I got 213fps
