Is Revenge really that good?

I had all the previous burnouts bar a couple of the last ones. I didnt buy revenge as when i played the demo it was basically just the previous ones with a graphics update.

Is there any new features? Is it worth picking up now? Or shall i wait for paradise?

Everyone has different gaming taste, some of the console games mentioned here i wouldn't bother with even if someone was handing them out like flyers on the street lol

Burnout Revenge is the best of all 4 by a long way, but personally I would wait for Paradise now, although Revenge is still one of the best games on the 360 in my opinion.

Because he's right?

PC's can do Blu-Ray, which is correct. What he failed to mention is that the playback is very poor in comparison to the PS3. It also takes a hellishly powerful spec PC to get much out of it.

clearly you aren't aware either that PC sound cards can't do 7.1LCPM over HDMI

so as far as i'm concerned they can't do blue ray or HDDVD for that matter

And that I guess :p.

I still need to 1000 point revenge...we'll have to have some old fashioned multi player pileups again soon I think!
I'd grab revenge from your local game shop, most likely to be a s/h copy sitting there for something silly like £15 :D

well i have no idea what that stands for, im not really an audiophile, lossless something? But he said PC's can play Blu Ray, which they can, regardless of what you consider to be 'fully' playign them.

I think this is the longest running thread i've ever started. shame it turned into a flame war.

I got Burnout Revenge in the week for £15 new.

Easily the best racing game ive ever played.

Speed is awesome

Destruction is cool, something many games don't have

Tracks/scenery look top notch

Music and sound brill, when you boost it sounds like a plane taking off

The design/structure of how you progress is cool too.

So many different types of game. Traffic crashing, race forward/back. Crash.

8.8 from gamespot is deserved.

I wouldn't say it's a flame war. It was all good til NVIDIA starting talking nonsense, console fans haven't flamed back so much as they have corrected his ill-informed knowledge/opinions/facts.

Nah, dont worry. It usually happens, we have started to be more civilized lately as we know exactly what people are going to say.

But sometimes PC people venture into console and spice things up.

Speed is awesome

Is it? Never tried it myself ;)

Jokes aside, I started playing it again the other day, it feels silly fast compared to any other game out there, like Wipeout, but it doesn't rely on stripes down the sides to make the game look faster than it really is. It's amazing none the less, even though it was ported from the original Xbox, and superb to have a laugh on live with, especially with voice! Though I can imagine being able to use the camera with it and see the other persons face when you take them down out of nowhere would be equally thrilling ;)

You guys seen the Paradise clips at IGN? Some new ones put up on the 7th :)
