Another small milestone for me this weekend, passed 100 wu's :)

Also on the machine front, rebuilt the e2140 and got it running Ubuntu FF x64 today, so should see a slight ppd boost from win smp.

I must seriously look at replacing the x1950pro thou, the power consumption is beginning to worry me  I could run 2x C2D smps for 3k + ppd and only use slightly more juice than the GPU is using for 600ppd.

Points per Watt is shocking for GPU folding

Just for a bit of comparison, upgrading from Win SMP (on XP 32bit) to 64bit Linux has chopped 1min off the frame times for a 2653 wu, so speeding up the wu by over 1h30min.

Also of interest i have 2 machines here folding the same wu (2653). Both machines are identical bar the CPUs (Asus P5B + 1 Gb PC8500).

The E6600 @ 2.88Ghz is giving 1643ppd - Vista Ulti 32bit

The E2140 @ 3Ghz is giving 1712ppd - Ubuntu FF 64bit

Enough rambling from me... :-)

According to my ****** power meter its drawing close to 430w! And thats using a good quality PSU too.

Its overclocked from stock 600Mhz Core to 618Mhz, and the P4 CPU from 2.8 to 3.2Ghz... Im sure a chunk of the power is due to the 'Presshot' P4 tho...

By the power of grayskull!

By comparison, my ps3 folds at 200watts for 900ppd and my iMac folds at 55watts (screen off) for 700ppd.

My e6300 (OC to 2.5ghz), 2gb RAM, x1950 Pro folds at 175watts running 2 standard clients.

430watts is insane!
