AS5 v Liquid Metal Pro

I've used it, it's great....However, application is difficult...and if you ever plan on removing the HSF from your CPU again it's pretty hard as well.

The other 2 best thermal pastes are:

1) Shin-Etsu MicroSi MPU-3.7
2) Arctic Cooling MX-1

in that order

I noticed a difference of a few degrees on my old 4400x2...but removing the waterblock from the cpu after a few months of contact was a real hassle. It took a lot of force and I was scared of pulling the waterblock off with the IHS attached.

I ended up getting a thin flat screwdriver to pry it the block around the edges. It also permanently discolored the IHS...which might affect the resale value of your chip. Luckily my 4400x2 stepping was a darn good one and it was still easy to sell. Sold it to pinkfloyd...dunno if he's still enjoying it or not.

well 1 of 2 things will happen then if I try.

1) it works great and drops my temps.
2) it fails and I loose my opty 170 (no IHS fitted by the way).

Use just a small amount...you'd be REALLY surprised at how much just a little drop of this stuff spreads around.

Again, use a small amount because if you have removed the IHS then you definitely don't want liquid metal oozing out onto the little cpu pcb thingy!
