I actually prefer it on the 360. Analogue movement more than makes up for the slight drop in visual quality.

Same here. Laying back in my front room with a big screen and wireless pad is the way I like to enjoy this game because it's about atmosphere and character more than precision aiming.

bioshock was easier to control on pc, even 360 users agreed,

infact all FPS are better on pc cos you need a mouse/keyboard. it will always be better

same for RTS

I found it harder to be honest (check my Steam ID and gamertag details, you will find I actually own both versions of Bioshock because I am leet/weirdo) because of the rubbish mouse acceleration and twitchy splicer movement. The auto-aim on the 360 pad helped a lot. I found it much easier to hit splicers with the pistol using the pad for example.

I use the 360 pad on the PC version. Don't pass your opinion off as fact, or I'll feed your high horse to the Germans.

Sid, like a lot of people, makes the mistake of thinking that easy aiming is better.

Halo was far worse on the pc due to mouse control. Golden Eye and Perfect Dark simply wouldn't have worked. Many fps actually benefit from having to take slow and careful aim. In Golden Eye you track your target, leading the shot, squeeze the trigger button. It feels excellent - far more realistic, tricky and satisying than anything i've experienced with a mouse.

I'm not saying that all fps are more suited to a pad - many are obviously much better with the ability to twitch aim - but some, usually slower paced, immersion driven experiences, certainly are. I'm actually really looking forward to Hl2 on the 360 - analogue movement, rumble, trigger buttons, aiming that feels more realistic and, as a result, more challenge (something that disappointed with the pc version). If done well it could be the definitive version.

The better question is - can he say one thing good about the PS3 ;)

I'll start. Mine is good at attracting dust ...

and it's a damn fine Blu-ray player.

sid can you not say one good thing about a the Xbox 360

has better games, better online support, bigger hdd(also ps3 is upgradable)

But pc pwns it in the end. it can't pwn ps3 or a wii that easily because they are slightly more different.

i need to play on my ps3 more lol, i've just had 2 hours of BF2 and screw all consoles tbh, nothing beats that.

You don't need a Mouse and Keyboard, that's a complete and utter fallacy continually publisised by the PC gaming masses.

Halo and Call of Duty 2 are two games that were superior with a control pad to than of a M&K. PC gamers aren't willing to attempt to alter their very limited perception of games consoles, it's their loss.

You do NOT need Mouse and Keyboard to enjoy FPS games, I personally love MANY FPS games on a console just as I do on a PC.

i don't know why you care so much what i think.

I could care less if you like what i purchase or not.

My original thread for tips has turned into a flame war by 360 fanboys

Its gamable but not perfect, and if you read the thread title i game pc games so I will never like console pads. I had a xbox before the ps3 and played halo on it, couldn't aim properly at all, always ended having to correct myself, got frustrated with it in the end.

edit/ you haven't to chance with games like UT BF2 CSS with a console pad, i'd love to see you try.

edit/My opinions aren't up for debate, so lets all go play on whatever we have.

I was a top UK CS player playing amongst the top clans in the UK around the time of uninspired, 4K, asot, CSA etc.. so I am a PC gamer myself, however I refuse to rule out a control pad. I love using a control pad for a lot of games.

To say you will never like them is just very naive or narrow minded, practice makes perfect. Nobody has the ability to pick something up and master it.

meh, I don't have to like everything, I have no rational reason for not liking yoghurt despsite being good for you. perhaps same way with console pads.

I'm not narrow minded, I've bought an xbox and PS3 and I've concluded myself that its no good for certain types of games. so at least I know what I'm talking about.

the pads are better than a keyboard for racing games where analogue stick gives smoother turns.

I knew when I read your opening post a couple of days ago that this would ultimately turn into just that. I think it's a pretty pointless thread.

Theres no law that says I have to like the 360, or the games on it. I had a xbox before I wanted to try the PS3 as it has different games.

I also don't have to accept peoples arguments or opinions, and likewise you aren't required to agree with mine.

sid

edit/ w00t just gettin dirt demo, I've heard they've removed the excessive HDR from the pc version

thats all very true but to be fair, you did pretty much start it by sayin the 360 was for people who cant afford a high end PC lol

I mean just a tiny bit of common sence would tell you that if you voice an opinion about the 360, your GOING to get people standing up for it, whether their fanboys or not. I'm not saying dont voice your opinions on the 360, by all means do, just be prepared to have people arguing left right and center about it :)

C'mon mate there is little bit of truth in what I said, given that most people have argued many 360 games will be on pc anyways and vice versa.

Also to point out, you can use 360 controller on pc. so you can have controller (which i think is naff for some types of games anyways) on the pc with better graphics for the most part and free online play added in.

You can hook the pc (which can be easily as quiet as the 360, given that the 360 is loud or so i've heard) to the HDTV in the living room so you can sit on the sofa, take your performance enhancing gaming plasmids like beer and chill.

As far as the bugs in pc games goes, this is OC forum so I'm going to assume people know how to troubleshoot.

Its now come down to the price point doesn't it?? where the 360 is the one to go for if you can't afford a high end pc or am I missing something else? (there a few exclusive titles to the 360, but thats true of any platform and opinions will vary depending on what you like)

sid

edit/ a semi decent gaming pc isn't that much more expensive that a 360/PS3 anyways, you pay so much more the extras and games that they cost the same. This a while back people had posted how much they spent on next gen consoles and it was a fair whack to say the least.

Then please stop passing off your opinions as fact and having a bad attitude when people disagree with you.

Why are you so adamant on defending the PC as the be all and end all of gaming, especially in the consoles forum?
