Interesting message from Valve on this Steam message... - along with some shots of the Engineer, they have this to say about TF2...

In other TF2 news, stay tuned for a pretty big announcement next week. You're going to want to hold off on planning any vacations until you hear what we've got to say on Tuesday.

Hopfully it means it's ready for release, about time too.

Well they've already given us a release date...tho I'd be very happy if they bought it forward. Personally I'm hoping for a demo, tho someone on another forum suggested it could be an offer where if you buy the Orange Box now, then you get immediate full access to Team Fortress 2. Apparently they did the same thing with CSS and HL2 (tho I don't remember that personally).
Ah, twas so much simpler in the days when 2fort4 was king.

Wasn't it preorder customers got access to the CSS beta?
 
I don't see them releasing a demo. We didn't get a CSS demo did we?

Maybe pre-loads from this week and an earlier launch date to coincide with Quake Wars.

Doubt it, Valve rarely give Demos for games, Half-Life 2 demo was a little late when it did come out from what I remember.

I reckon they'll announce a pre-order and preload of Portal / Episode 2 / TF2, and that TF2 will come out earlier, like before the end of september.
 
I've got TF2 with my graphics, just need to wait for it to be released, hope steam still knows I've registered the key :eek:

yes thats true, if you pre-ordered HL2 you got access to CSS before the HL2 release.
