Does anyone NOT have a 8800 GTS/GTX/Ultra?

Only recently switched over to PCI-E from AGP, stuck with the same model of card though, ATI X1950 Pro 512mb.

Will probably upgrade to either a 8800GTX or 2900 sometime though having trouble deciding which to go for, in terms of power consumption, heat, noise etc.

Although I'll probably wait until after christmas now and see what the new 45nm cpu's are like and buy both at the same time.

All i ever see are threads about 8800s...does no-one have any other cards?

No point to this thread.

People have them because they offer great bang for buck.

a 320 MB 8800 GTS can be had for as little as 160 and cream the rest of the other GFX's about.

Apart from 640 and GTX versions.

Thats why there is a lot of 8800's about.

He can ask if he wants..

I'm as chilled as can be ;)

Just saying as you managed to take Toms thread off topic once or twice posting your opinions (much like I'm doing now :p)

A X800XL and a 7600GT here, oh and a 88...... thing - do you think it's overkill for Flight Sim? Being a hardware junky just had to see how a card that scored 11000 in 3Dmark Looked:D

Just a general observation. :)

Scrolling through the pages and pages of 'Graphics Cards' and it occured to me just how many threads there are about 8800s.

I don't remember this many people owning "the best card on the market" before the 8800s.

noticed the same thing, the main reason of this is the 8800 series is the best value for money really out there, check out the CPU forum and its the EXACT same with C2D threads, millions of them asking the exact same question

"2900XT or 8800..."
"Can i clock this 8800..."
"Which brand of 8800..."
"How much memory do i need..."

-End. :p

My trusty x1900xtx is still going strong but is struggling since i got my dell 2407, could be an 8800 on the horizon.
