All i know is that I want a 24inch screen for my pc and to use my ps3 on.

Thing is I don't know which one to get My ps3 came with a hmdi cable but I will be using seperate speakers so won't the hdmi be as useful as a standard dvi connecter??

I have no budget limit. thanks

Dell 2407WFP has a good range if interface options. The BenQ FP241 or FP241WZ might well be worth a look tho as they feature an HDMI interface as well as DVI. Ideal for your PC and PS3 :)

thanks for the replies guys.
Should have been more specific with the budget. I don't have one but I don't want to pay more unless its worth it. I see myself paying 400-550quid as I want something good.

What about the dvi though? isnt HMDI essentially the same as DVI but doesnt carry sound??
I want the ps3 and pc plugged in at the same time and want to be switchable between the two. Whats the PictureInPicture thing like on the BenQ's??

thanks

EDIT: I havn't heard of the eizo before, is it a good brand?

EIZO is probably the best brand worldwide, hence the ultimate prices. HDMI is DVI+sound.

will look into the eizo:) EDIT: ouch at the price!! I deffo don't want to spend that much, even though it would be awesome

So if i am not using monitor speakers a dual DVI monitor will be fine:)
I really want to know how good that PIP from benQ is though as it sounds very useful:p

ouch is putting it mildly buddy, the Dell 2407WFP, or Dell 2407WFP-HC look like a bargain by comparison. My own is Dell 2407WFP-HC and can't complain, but there's a lot of good competition recently.

Ok, so i tried this PIP function and it is quite limited tbh. I was hoping to be able to have both of my machines showing at the same time (one connected via DVI and the other by analogue) an i was unable to do this. (Unless i am doing something wrong). From the instructions it looks like only certain combinations can be used

This isn't a big issue for me but it would have been nice to have it working. Maybe the latest firmware version fixes this? Anyone know?

Hope this helps

The pip is very limited. Basicaly can only swap between video and the bigger modes.

composite/svideo or hdmi/componant/dvi/vga

Did you get the ghosting issue?

I don't mate, :), and my black's are flawless, but I don't game on it, or do any rendering of any kind - so its possible I'm not stressing it as much as others. For me, so far, it's been a perfect 24".

Its a fantastic monitor, and I strongly recommend it, but other people have had their issues. depends on your usage I think.

Hi there

If price is not a worry then why not go for one of these:-

The new MultiSync LCD2690WUXi display from NEC display solutions boast a 26" display size, 16:10 widescreen format and a resolution 1920x1200, ensuring extremely high image quality. It is specifically designed for professional use for graphic design, CAD/CAM and DTP applications. The large screen size, widescreen format, and accurate colour reproduction also make the product ideal for the display of financial information, document processing, public display, broadcasting, gaming, home cinema and mult-media applications.

Many are evaluating the move to Microsoft Vista and recognise that wide format displays will offer the extra screen space required to display Vista 'gadgets' and tool bars alongside regular applications. NEC's wide format displays will also fulfill requirements to invest in energy saving technologies and to improve work place ergonomics for staff helping to increase productivity.
The new flagship product within the NEC Display Solutions high-end series widescreen range offers some of the most sophisticated display technology available. It's 26" screen allows two A4 pages to be viewed side by side, with extra space for additional tools for windows. Pin-sharp picture quality is assured thanks to the 1920x1200 resolution and a larger distance between pixels (0,287mm) reduces eye strain. The new H-IPS A-TW Pol panel offers exceptionally wide horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 178% without colour shift. Reviews rate the quality above the DELL's, its not as expensive as the Eizo's but probably similar in quality and its another 2" bigger. :)
