What cars used the XUD9 lump?

Not to be trusted for accuracy. Last parts shop I was in listed a 1996-2000 E39 fitted with a 3.0 petrol engine. Infact actually it was the EBC Brakes catalouge..
I understand parts catalogues are often wrong, but Autodata, Dayco, NGK Glow Plugs, Quinton Hazel Filter catalogue, FAI Engine Parts and various others do list the XUD9 in the 205, I couldnt say for 100% fact that they are correct though.

XUD9 glow plugs fit my XUD7 engine. :p

I've not tried filters, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same also. XUD9's and XUD7's are very similar engines.
Yes, the oil filters are the same too, but that same filter fits almost every citroen and peugeot throughout the 90's, both petrols and diesels.
I coudlnt say 100% that the 205 did have the XUD9 engine fitted, looking around I cant see any, but ive got about 30 catalogues that do list it as doing so, all from different companies.

edit: Been looking about, and it appears I cant find a 205 XUD9, seems strange that so many catalogues list them, usually one or two may list them by mistake.

I guess as fox said the catalogues aren't always 100% accurate, which can lead to confusion. Maybe the information that many of the catalogues use could have an error?

I just didn't want the OP looking for 205's on ebay or wherever when they won't have an XUD9 engine in (unless an engine conversion was done). :)

EDIT: What's an SJ?

And if you drop a diesel lump into it, you can do this (classic vid, but it never gets old!)

Well that's the engine sorted. We've decided to let the XND pass away quietly in it's sleep. I't going to cost a minimum of £190 to keep it on the road after the end of the month (£40 test, £50 windscreen excess, £100 road tax) and that's providing it doesn't fail on anything else.

Can't fault the car though, in the time we've had it i've changed the tyres and brakes and the wife has done 350-400 miles a week in it and the only letdown was due to me not repalcing the alternator belt tensioner when it was screaming it's nackers off.

I have the technology, i can rebuild it! (using the LDV Pilot gearbox i've just bought that is ;))
