Guy/Gals,

Just been reading up on Bulgarian property after seeing the ending of a show on C4 - looks like it could be a quick low risk investment - anyone got any pointers/advice and has anyone brought/sold out their?

Am thinking of buying somewhere, or maybe even multiple plots if renting them would be easy, and then selling after 2/3 years for a nice chunk of wonga :D

My colleague is Bulgarian, and he says you can get a vineyard over there in his hometown for 5 grand. And for 10k, someone will run it for you, your very own vineyard :)

They will try to con you, and judging by your spelling skills, they will most likely succeed too. Be very very wary and use respected, UK based lawyers. Then be more wary, then it might work. But always expect them to cheat you. :)

far from missed the boat on bulgaria, it's still ridiculously cheap and still about to grow massively. but you're right that cyprus is a bit of a hot ticket at present
the thing with bulgaria is that there's so many varied locations, and some of them will take a lot longer to give a return if they even manage it, look around, there's lots of advice about it
depending on budget you're probably better looking at £30-50k properties in a better area, you'll get a stonking property and the investment will be more secure even if a smaller increase

Just got back from my Sisters and she and her husband are going through the process of buying a 1 bedroom apartment in Bulgaria for 30 grand.

My parents have a property in Bulgaria, bought it last year off plan and has already doubled in price. The property developer they went through are about to start on another complex which I might buy into. You have far from missed the boat as someone else has said, there are still plenty of apartments/houses you can buy and will be for a time yet. Obviously it's best to get one as soon as you can though.

My friend recently jointly bought a house in Bulgaria, they're just using it as a holiday home I think. Was about £40k.

if you buy land or a house you have to set up a company but if you buy a flat you don't need to.
Heard prices were going up 17% a year over there.

If i was builder it would be easy money.

i was looking to invest in bulgaria about 3 years ago, the properties were a lot cheaper (even the pre build deals were damn cheap). given the closeness of the sea and the mountains, it would draw people in all year round :]

never did and lost out :/
