Hi im looking for some quick advice on wheather these temps are good for wc

Im using a swiftech ultra WC kit for my B3 Q6600 with a p655 coolant pump

Q6600 B3 everthing stock idle 42,42,39,38 at load 57,57,56,57 amberiant temp 23c and in a small room.

Are these good or bad temps for a WC quad ?

thanks

15c or more with water cooling, anything else in the loop?
nope just the cpu i got it like this res-pipe-pump-pipe-Rad-pipe-CPU-pipe-res.and already have reseated the cpu twice because of these unusal temps :(

well speedfan says its 30c i wish
any ideas ?

I dont really know what you should get with water, but im getting 35 35 34 36 idle at stock with a B3 on air (thermaright U/E) - so would say they are high, yes.

Way too high.

I would reseat the waterblock.

It could alse be a symptom of too much thermal paste.

I would expect at least 10 degrees lower than what you're getting

Are you getting full contact mounting on the IHS?

Where is the rad positioned?

What fans used and what speed and direction are they?

It should be more like 10c over ambient at idle at most. Do you have air in your loop?
nope, no bubbles and also have the correct amout of coolant in the res.Have tryed testing the temp in a differnt cooler room temps have droped about 4 c at idle now is that still to high ?

moving the PC to a cooler room won't change the fact that the chip is hotter than it should be with that cooling.

Edit: I wonder if the block itself is really THAT poor at cooling quad, surely not.

Strange thing is ive seen people running the exact same block that i have with a quad with lower temps.

So external air is cooling the rad?

What about the mounting contact, concave IHS are quite common.

Have you installed the Apogee block the right way around?

yes external air is cooling the rad,not sure what mounting contact means ?

yes have just remounted and put the block the right way around but still seeing temps of on my q6600 B3 34c-44c idle and 52c to 56c at load, everything at stock

Mounting contact = area getting contact with the block.

Look at the imprint of the paste when you fully attach and remove the cooler, you should get an even & very thin layer of paste over the core area.

How can there be anything wrong with his mount? The delta between idle and load temps is quite good. If the mount was bad then load temps would rocket sky high. You can try remounting but I don't think that will solve your problems. You could try lapping but again if your mount is fine and the surfaces are mating correctly I doubt you will see much of a difference.

You probably just have a hot chip (B3's run hot).
