Was looking at ways of cooling my old Athlon XP 2600+, as the BIOS tells me that the current cooling is hitting 100C+, which cant be healthy!

my motherboard doesnt have enough space for the Zalman CNPS700, which would be a good alternative, so i was wondering whether the epoxy would be strong enough to support the cantilever force an HR-05 and a 80mm fan (total weight a little over 200g), and if that solution would provide ok cooling (dotn want to stick it to the CPU just for it to go BOOM!).

a bit "retro", but what do you think?

Its so stong when mixed normally with no normal AS5 in it (you do this to weaken incase you need remove later) it will rip the Chip its on right off Mobo instead of bond breaking.

if u not got mounting holes then the best cooler you can get for socket A which uses the clip around the socket lugs is the gigabyte G-power pro cooler. i used to use a gigabyte g-power BL with my [email protected] with 1.825v and the gigabyte cooler kept the cpu at around 60c max load temp. very good cooler.
