wc tempertures [Q6600 B3]

How can there be anything wrong with his mount? The delta between idle and load temps is quite good. If the mount was bad then load temps would rocket sky high. You can try remounting but I don't think that will solve your problems. You could try lapping but again if your mount is fine and the surfaces are mating correctly I doubt you will see much of a difference.

You probably just have a hot chip (B3's run hot).
thanks w3bbo for some possitive news :) i have remounted it since last time i tired mounting it the other way around to see if any differnce none though.

What temps is anyone else seeing with a q6600 B3 under water just for interest sake ?

You can have the ApogeeGT mounted badly on a quad core.

Make sure you have it so that the water is passing through the pin matrix going across both cores horizontally.

To rule it out as concave IHS are common - how else can you check if the surfaces are mating correctly?, granted 12 deg load delta is good though.

Ive remouted the same Wb 3 times all with no differnece The mounting for the Wb is 4 spring screws with no backplate on the mb.

Each time i use the quad core metod with a thin line accors the middle on the cpu
{|} <-[wb] <- i have mounted this way.

any other ideas ?

thanks

Yes, but which way is the water flowing over the chip?

because of the GT's mounting method, I think it's only possible to mount it one way though but Gabe (CEO of Swiftech) has stated that it's better to have it running across the cores. Yet it would depend on room around the socket I would imagine.

I think Niksubh1 at XS used the GTX mounting plate as it's symmetrical to get a different mount direction. Can't see why Gabe would mention flow direction over cores if you have no control as to which way the block is mounted.

Hi the wc block is mounted horizontally won't fit vertical. The water is flowing LEFT to RIGHT accross the wc block with the aritic silver line vertical .

Hope this helps ?

Are people lapping their cpu when they install WC. ?
